I need to post this every year - it is a great reminder of one of the principles that guide the work of this RAEN:
"Teachers are calling us looking for Common Core OR TASC trainings. That simply doesn't exist. The TASC is aligned to the Common Core State Standards, and the two cannot be separate. The TASC is a national high school equivalency assessment that measures examinees' levels of achievement relative to that of graduating high school seniors AND readiness for college and the workforce as defined by the Common Core Learning Standards. Our workshops this year will focus on linking the Common Core Standards to the TASC and instructional strategies that promote student success on the TASC, such as how to turn an ordinary worksheet into a meaningful rigorous task."
You can find an interactive map of West RAEN Literacy Zones and the services they provide at this link: http://raen.mvgismaps.net/west
There is a new blog posted about the TASC Test. Find and follow it at
